Driving Directions
From Hesperia, take Main St. east. Continue on the same road when the name changes to Arrowhead Lake Rd. Take this to its end at Hwy 173, make a left, drive 1 mile until 173 turns into dirt road and park here with a National Forest Adventure Pass.
Route
Ride up 173 about 8 miles to Grass Valley Rd. Take this to Grass Valley Lake. Conitinue on Grass Valley Road to Golf Course Rd to Tunnel Dr. Make a left on Grass Valley Rd to Peninsula Dr to North Bay Rd, make a left and go to Hwy 173 and make another left and ride back down to where you parked.
Details
The temp was in the 50s most of this ride and it was a beautiful clear day. They were grading the road on the dirt section of Hwy 173 so that was cool. Grass Valley Lake isn't much to see but I took two pictures of it anyway. Cool ride, but no snow and that sucked.
Forest Details
The first trees appear about 5 miles into the ride. Mostly Coulter Pine along the way.
