From Hesperia, take Main St east and continue on the same road after the name changes to Arrowhead Lake Road. Continue on Arrowhead Lake Road until its end at Highway 173. Make a left here and drive 1 mile to the end of the paved road. You can start here and add about 11 total miles onto the ride and about 1700 feet elevation gain or you can drive up the road about 5.5 miles to Willow Creek Jeep Trail on your left. Park near here and ride up Willow Creek Jeep Trail. Either place you park, a National Forest Adventure Pass is required. |

First things first, get a map of the area before you head out here. Ride up Willow Creek Jeep Trail (3N34.3) a few miles to Squint Ranch Rd (3N34.2) and make a right (the only option available). Take this a few miles to where the name changes to Hook Creek Rd (2N26Y). Stay on this road which will shortly become paved and residential and take you back to Hwy 173 (paved). Watch out for traffic, make a right onto Hwy 173 and go about 6 miles back down to Willow Creek Jeep Trail where you parked (3N34.3). |

This was a really cool ride. The first part on Willow Creek Rd. was pretty burned and hot but once into the forest, it was awesome. At one point, one of the roads turned into a 4-6in deep stream and that was cool. There were these huge signs scattered here and there with forest service maps on them. A heavy fog was rollin' into Lake Arrowhead on my way out, it was awesome. |

There is some Coulter Pine out here. Once you leave the burned area behind, it really is a nice ride. |

| Additional Elevation & Distance Information |
|
Lot of ups and downs on this ride. After a short climb at the start you decend to about 4400 feet elevation and then begin the hilly climb to the highest elevation 5360 feet. This point is reached about 10 miles into the ride. From here it's a hilly descent back to the starting point. |
