    Outdoor Research Flash Pouch
Most climbers and mountaineers are aware of the dangers associated with puncture and slashing wounds caused by poorly-stowed crampons. If you never got the point, consider yourself lucky and pick up a Outdoor Research Flash Pouch. It's made from a combination of durable Cordura nylon and protective Hypalon. Grommet holes allow for water drainage and a zippered pocket holds your small tools and other climbing accessories. You'll also find a pair of daisy chains so you can clip the Outdoor Research Flash Pouch to your climbing or mountaineering backpack. Dual zipper pulls along the opening make crampon access easy (just watch for points when you're reaching inside the Flash Pouch). Outdoor Research also added reflective piping along the seams to help you find what you're looking for during the predawn hours on the mountain.

    Outdoor Research Index Rope Bag
If crags are your bag, the Outdoor Research Index Rope Bag is perfect for your approach. It's made with a durable 500-denier Cordura fabric that's water resistant and designed to keep anything up to a 60-m. rope protected (there's a polyurethane-coated rope tarp inside). The Outdoor Research Index Rope Bag has a clever Hydroseal Antron nylon pocket that's proportioned to fit most climbing guide books. One of the extra touches that we really like is the adjustable closed-foam straps that easily configure to fit your shoulders like a backpack or shoulder bag. Outside the Index Rope Bag are plenty of daisy chains for attaching climbing hardware, although we still found that we had enough room inside for the rope, harness and a few extras--there's even a lateral compression strap for cinching down fully-loaded contents. The Outdoor Research Index Rope Bag is also a great bag for keeping your rope and gear in order during those downtimes at your own household climbing wall.
