Driving Directions
Drive to Hesperia, bring your bike.
Route
We rode out of honda valley to the platform then down a rocky ridge trail to the intersection of Hwy 173 & Hwy 138. Make a left onto Hwy 138 and ride maybe 1 mile up to a forest road on the right just after the highway levels out a bit. Take this fire road to the summit of Cleghorn and down the other side to the jeep trail that intertwinds with it. Ride the jeep trail down for a steep, technical descent or just stay on the fire road, they intersect at the bottom. Take the main road back out to Hwy 138, make a right about a mile to Summit Valley Rd on the left. Take a left and ride about 6-8 miles back to Hesperia.
Details
It was a good day until I dislocated my shoulder right at the top of Cleghorn Jeep trail on the way down. Didn't crash, just somehow screwed it up. Descended the rest on the fireroad with one arm and road home one-handed. Bummer.
Trail Condition
The trails are in great riding condition, a little beat up from the OHVs but nice and rideable.
Notes about this ride report
Note to self: Maintenance schedule:
Put a new chain and cassette on at ~10245 miles. Burned out last one in 1400 miles and 2.5 months. Should've changed chain sooner. Change that damn thing every month.

I rode most of this ride big ring cause my middle ring is shot.

Rode with Todd & Romolo.
