Driving Directions
Ride to Hesperia somewhere near Danbury x Ranchero.
Route
Start in Hesperia. Ride to Las Flores Rd, south of Danbury Ave x Ranchero Rd. Take Las Flores to Hwy 173, make a left about 1.5 miles to the dam entrance. Go up the dam to 2N33, Pilot Rock Road, make a left. In about 1/2 mile notice the jeep trail following the ridge to the SE, this is the way down. Continue on the good dirt road, 2N33. Eventually it turns east along the top of a E-W ridge. Continue along the same road staying on the better road when other trails take off to the left and right. Eventually, at just under 5100' elevation, there is a marked jeep trail to the left, 2N17X that drops off steeply and heads back toward the dam. Turn onto this trail. There are some technical descents on this trail as well as short, steep climbs.
Details
Did a 48 mile ride the day before out to Cleghorn Mtn and then some other stuff. Started off a little tired. Rode with Romolo both days.

Moist ground in a lot of places along 2N33.

Still some hunters out and about. I walked some of 2 or 3 of the steep climbs on 2N17X, very challenging to ride, my legs didn't have it today.
